Sunday the 20th May marks the U.N. appointed
World Bee Day
The United Nations General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution declaring 20 May as World Bee Day. Every year on this day, the attention of the global public will be drawn to the importance of preserving bees and other pollinators. People will be reminded of the importance of bees for the entire humanity and invited to take concrete action to preserve and protect them. The resolution was co-sponsored by 115 UN Member States, including the USA, Canada, China, the Russian Federation, India, Brazil, Argentina, Australia and all the European Union Member States.
It’s a shame the Woollahra Municipal Council didn’t get the memo, after recently killing 50,000 bees (article here)

Organise an event to recognise the unsung hero of our world and share it with the community – host a movie screening

The film “More than Honey” by Markus Imhoof, and narrated by John Hurt is a multi award winning film, highlighting the importance of Bees to the survivability and sustainability of the human race (or People Kind as Justin Trudeau says).
We are the exclusive distributor of this film and can provide you with the required screening rights to suit your event. More than Honey is available for screening in the professional DCP format (used by nearly all cinemas) and eCinema format, as well as commercial grade DVD. Depending on your event, we can also offer DVDs for sale and other marketing material.

“The relationship between humans and honeybees tells us a lot about ourselves, about nature and about our future. We understand that stability is just as unhealthy as unlimited growth and that it is crisis and catastrophe that fuels evolutionary developments. And we learn that a remedy might sometimes arise in the camouflage of a catastrophe and from a totally unexpected source.

Everybody talks about the death of the honeybee. “More than Honey” shows us more about it’s life.”
